UPDATE: For a PRACTICAL approach to the question,
'Can I stop a charging bear with (Insert caliber and weapon)???'
check out Tim's most recent article on
BEAR STOPPERS.
The 'CLINCHER' is his final observation,
'Truth is that bear attacks are not all that rare if you spend time in bear country and even if such attacks were rare, the person that has just experienced one, had a 100% chance of being attacked.'
Do not become a statistic or a News Headline.
Understand 'WHAT', and be prepared to deal 'WITH',
the reality you may face in the outdoors.

Due to the thousands of these rifles made over the years, we cannot provide a 'How tall of a front sight will I need' answer. There have been quite a few variations in barrel diameter, caliber, barrel length, ramp heights, etc etc, which when added to the other variables of shooter/gun/load combinations make front sight selection a process. This 'process' is well discussed on our FRONT SIGHT PAGE, Our FAQ page, Technical Page, and is spelled out by common sense.
Please do not email and call with the question, 'I have a caliber ' ??? ' serial number ' ????? ' built in 19??. How tall will my front sight need to be? We just cannot predict that height for you.
IF your gun uses the size 8-40 Screws, (I believe models 4 and 6) please make a note during check out or send an email immediately after you place the order. We can make sure you get what you need.
The Skinner 'EXPRESS' sights also adapts well to many other applications.
