I have several skinner peep sights for the Marlin 1894 carbines. I agree they are kind of a set them and leave them alone sight system. Yet if you are looking for a classy looking low profile type of sight, in my opinion the skinner is the way to go.

I wanted to let you know I received my “Skinner Express” sight in the USPS yesterday, and I think that may be a record time for shipping! I could not believe how fast Uncle Sam moved that package from Montana to the Blue Ridge! I had that thing popped out of the poke, and mounted on my 336c in record time. The install was beyond easy! I cannot believe how good they look on my rifle, and more importantly, how fast the aperture came to my eye! I am more than happy. I should be able to go shoot/sight in this weekend. I will try the factory sight first; it looks like the factory front sight may work but if it does not, I have the brass blade that I also ordered. I will send you an update with the results.
I want to thank you again for shipping the sight so quickly! The “Skinner Express” I think is just what the doctor ordered.

Due to the thousands of these rifles made over the years, we cannot provide a 'How tall of a front sight will I need' answer. There have been quite a few variations in barrel diameter, caliber, barrel length, ramp heights, etc etc, which when added to the other variables of shooter/gun/load combinations make front sight selection a process. This 'process' is well discussed on our FRONT SIGHT PAGE, Our FAQ page, Technical Page, and is spelled out by common sense.
Please do not email and call with the question, 'I have a caliber ' ??? ' serial number ' ????? ' built in 19??. How tall will my front sight need to be? We just cannot predict that height for you.
